Understanding the Assessment Process
As you arrive at our center for your child’s assessment, you can expect to be greeted warmly by our committed team members. They will guide you through our facility to our specially designed assessment room, where the journey towards understanding your child begins.
Meet Your Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
In the assessment room, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with a board-certified behavior analyst. They will not only explain the assessment process but will also conduct a thorough evaluation of your child’s skills and behaviors.
Comprehensive Assessment
Our assessment is comprehensive, aiming to evaluate various aspects including communication, adaptive, social, and play skills. Additionally, any challenging behaviors your child may exhibit will be explored and addressed within the treatment plan.
Holistic Approach
Utilizing a combination of direct testing, observation, interview, review of records, and screening questions, our assessment aims to provide a clear and comprehensive understanding of your child’s needs. Depending on the complexity, the assessment may occur over one or multiple sessions.
The assessment process for BlueSprig clinicians includes:
- Client and/or parent interview
- Direct assessment and observation of skills:
- from multiple developmental domains (e.g., communication, social and emotional development and adaptive skills)
- in multiple settings (e.g., home, center, community)
- Review of assessment results from other professionals
Family Involvement
At BlueSprig, we value family involvement. While the BCBA conducts your child’s assessment, you’ll have the option to observe from our designated viewing area or through a secure video conference system. This allows you to witness the process firsthand while maintaining your child’s comfort and privacy.
Transparent Communication
Once the assessment is complete, our staff will thoroughly analyze the results to create a personalized treatment plan. The BCBA will then provide you with initial feedback, a summary of the results, and recommendations. We ensure a transparent discussion of the next steps, empowering you to make informed decisions about your child’s care.
