Safety and Security

The Shape of Behavior strives to ensure the safety, security and well being of the children in our care, our procedures and standards in place to cover pick-up and drop-off, visitors, equipment and furniture safety, transporting children and more. These procedures are periodically reviewed and updated to make certain they reflect the most current safety and security technology and practices.

Secure Environment

The Shape of Behavior has state-of-the-art security systems, including video surveillance and monitoring at most sites.  Your child’s safety is our priority. We go out of our way to put your mind at ease. We know that children with disabilities need protection probably more than any other child as many of them cannot communicate when they feel in danger.

 
Intensive Background and Reference Checks
You can rest assured that your child’s trainer has been screened thoroughly including background and reference checking across states. Sex offender and Criminal record checks are required on every applicant. Furthermore, all our staff participates in routine drug testing. Our staff is required to have CPR-First Aide training current.

Healthy Air, Cleaners, and Paint
Routine ventilation cleaning of air ducts make the air clean and rid the building of environmental toxins. We use Safe,non-chemical cleaners for daily cleaning. Our cleaners are so natural you could eat them! When we have the choice, our paint is low VOC to protect your child from toxins in standard paint used in commercial buildings.

Visitors

All unfamiliar visitors are required to have picture identification and have a background check for sex offender, and criminal records. A visitor listed as an authorized person to pick up a child must still show picture identification if the Director and/or associate do not know him/her.

Equipment Safety

The building, playground, and equipment are as safe as we can make them. Statistics show that at least one child per day breaks an arm (or another bone) daily on fancy play equipment, therefore we strive to keep our outdoor and indoor play equipment simple and safe for the protection of your child.
